Panasonic TH42PX80 Review

The PX80 features 3 HDMI inputs (one more than the PX70) a PC/vga input along with 2 Scarts and the usual Composite, Component and S-Video inputs. Unlike the PX70 it also features an SD card slot. Contrast ratio is up from a quoted 10,000:1 to 15:000:1 resolution.

Over the years, Panasonic have gained a legendary reputation for their black level performance and the TH42PX80 carries on this tradition. In fact, you could make a good argument for buying the TH42PX80 on the strength of its capabilities in this area alone. You really need to sit this screen alongside any LCD to really appreciate its strength in producing stunning black level performance.

Ive had the the px60 coming up to 2 years now and im still chuffed with it so i bet this later version should be another cracker from Panasonic.

I,ve had the 60 nearly two years its a cracking set will have a look at the 80 next time I'm at a Electrical shop

it's alright looking, thats when you start to get tempted:) i hope weve got a few years left in are 60's.

The thing is if you updated it every time another model came out you would be buying a new tv every year.

Ive noticed now all the latest Tv's are black, i think they swap colours from silver to black to create a market for the consumer to keep up with the fashion at the time.

:DDoes anyone know whether Panasonic have any plans to bring out the 50" version of the 42" one please - and if so, when?

Not sure about the PX model but there is a 50" in the PZ model with full 1080P ,it is a cracker mate.Try those nice people at R**her Sounds.

Think this may answer your question m8, "Completing the Full HD line-up are Z80 models, offering 15,000:1 contrast ratios and three HDMI sockets. They include 42-, 46- and 50in PZ80 plasmas and 32- and 37in LZ80 L".

Only prob is that there is currently NO Panasonic Z80 in 50" M8 - not due out until at LEAST May in UK!:D
