My channel Master 1.2 meter dish has moved as a result of the high winds last Friday. I moved the dish left and right with my remote controller until I found 2 satellites at 19 and 13 degrees. I don't get any signal anywhere else.

Does anyone knows of anyone that can re-aligne my dish and possible costs? The dish is situated at roof level and I live in Market Harborough, Leicestershire.

Thanks for any help in this matter.

Hi,
I'm no expert in doing this, but I you want to have a go yourself try this.
With your remote select a channel (one of the digiTv) on THOR 1 degree west. (due south from you). The motor on the dish should be at zero. check this. If so loosen the nuts on the dish slightly and rotate the dish left or right to get a signal/picture. This should work as long as the dish was only blown off by the wind left or right. Tighten up the nuts again.

Best of luck
Sham

if you're using channel master polar mount and actuator there is no zero as such when the dish and polar mount are aligned together in straight line then rotate the polar mount on the pole for strongest signal on 1W if that is south for you then tighten everything up should then be ok mark the pole in future then if it moves again just use yuor marker to reset

I have quite a large motor on it and I was wondering which nuts are the ones that I need to unscrew? there are some right at the back of the dish on a large plate that bolts into the dish.

Thanks for your help

depends what motor you use the andrews polar mount has three bolts on the down tube another motot used is the supermount the bolts that secure the motor to the mast are the ones you need

the channel master dish is not safe working on a ladder and you and it and you can easly run into problems.i struggled with a 1mtr let alone a 1.2 after the neighbours complained.placed it in the back garden.
if its moved and the wall mount is the problem remove and reposition the whole setup,as long as the mount is dead vertical you should be able to find the arc quickly, moving the top mount left and right and work from there.
it is also a good time to hammerite the brackets and even spray the dish,if you have any squirt some waxoil down the dish arms and under the polar mount.
make sure the mount is placed on a secure wall and the pole is vertical and you wont go wrong.

No reply from the East Midlands installer from another website forum to my private message, therefore, I had someone else to sort it for me for £50!

Quick response and good price.

No doubt my 1.2 meter dish will move again after the strong winds that are expected to get over the next few days!!

Keep fingers X:)

good price but it sounded like a very simple job if you're not scared of going up a ladder you could try drilling the mast and the polar mount and inserting a bolt to stop it moving again if you have the andrews polar mount this is easily done

do what ive done.

marked the motor, pole, dish at every angle that can be altered when ive got it working(my dish is high and expossed to any westerly wind) and when it moves or alters, i just move it back to the setting it was on before. easy. no need for a £50 man at all. just set the portable tv on the roof with my humax attached up and its done in minutes. i use liquid paper for my markings. its durable and longer lasting than markers.

i will have to go back up tonight(wind permitting) and sort it out. it moved eastwards in last nights gales.

Hi Matt33.

Did your save after you found 19 or 13e.
If you did you should fine other Sats.
If its an Up or Down wind movement problem that will need someone
up the ladder.

PS Digtv is at (Intelsat 10-02 @ 1w.
Thor is at @ 0.8w.

up on top of the roof with a portable not in this weather I hope if you're not electrocuted you will probably be blown off better to pay the £50 if you're not too steady on your feet especally in gale force winds you can always tune to neighbours untill the weather improves
