Toshiba XV series now in the UK

Designed to replace their X series Regza LCD TV's, and with some interesting new features, the Full HD XV range from Toshiba has arrived on these shores.

Available in 32in, 37in and 42in varieties all of the XV505 panels feature a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution along with a claimed contrast ratio of 30,000:1.

New for the XV series and designed to automatically measures ambient light conditions and adjust pictures accordingly, Toshiba's 'Luma Sens' technology also brings the benefit of lower energy consumption.

An advanced 'Game mode' is a function designed for the PS3 and Xbox 360 games consoles offering 1:1 pixel mapping across HDMI while automatically adjusting brightness for a more realistic gaming experience.

Toshiba will surely gain plaudits for their 'Audio Description' technology on these new sets, which brings additional commentary to scenes with no dialogue. There are around 3m people in the UK who are likely to benefit from the technology, and it is no surprise that its' being promoted by the RNIB and other charities.

Available now in the UK, the 32in, 37in and 42in panels can be sourced off the internet for around £450 £550 and £750 respectively.
