New 100Hz LCD TV's from Panasonic

Panasonic are set to build on the success of their 100Hz LCD technology with the introduction of two new screens this April.

The 37in TX-37LXD85 and 32in TX-32LXD85 will also feature improved contrast ratios of 10,000:1 and the latest incarnation of Panasonic's picture processing technology, V-Real 3.

100Hz Motion Picture Pro Technology inserts an extra frame between each of the usual 50 frames per second (fps) to produce a smoother transition and improved perception of motion by the human eye.

The two new screens come equipped with 3 HDMI inputs along with 1080p/24fps compatibility and an SD card reader.

Although the effectiveness of all forms of 100Hz processing on flat panel TV's have been subject to much conjecture, Panasonic have have demonstrated that this feature has certainly not put consumers off buying their products, as the highly successful TX-32LXD70/700 demonstrates. Not everyone agrees, but lots of you out there believe that 100Hz processing improves motion handling capabilities on these screens.

No conformation on prices as yet, but these screens will be in the shops towards the end of April.
