Sharp introduces D44E range of budget LCD TV's
Arriving in the UK towards the end of March, Sharp's D44E range of budget LCD TV's will replace the solid if unspectacular GD8E range of 'no frills' screens.
Offering screen sizes of 26in, 32in and 37in, the D44E range features 1,366 x 768 resolution and 10,000:1 contrast ratios along with a 6m/s response time.
In one of the few concessions to cutting edge technology, an ambient light sensor automatically adjust screen settings to reflect current lighting conditions. Sharp has also introduced a freeze-frame option.
In a departure from most manufacturers 'any colour as long as its black' philosophy, consumers will have the option of ordering their new D44E in silver-grey.
The 26in and 32in models will retail for £499 and £599 respectively, offering excellent value without even taking into account any discounting. The 37in model will be available late summer with an as yet undisclosed price.
