I´m still wondering about cables, will they be included and what kind of cables are we talking about? Goldwafers have the same limited information sheet the german shops have, I´m hoping some for clarification on this as the release date draws near.

What sort of cable do you want m8 ?

I can't see it coming with dvi-hdmi or dvi-dvi cables but then again when I got my humaxhdci2000 last year ( since sold, pile of crap ) it came with a hdmi cable.

Its not a problem, if it comes with no cable then just get one from the net.

I want to know if any CCcam supporting images are on the way before I get one.

Well I reckon they should supply the cable solution since they are the ones who failed to secure a HDMI licence. I´m still confused over just what kind of cable solution would be best (not my strong side I´m afraid).

OK m8, you're TV should have a slot for HDMI. Thats if its HD.

So the db800 does not have HDMI, so you will have to buy a DVI-HDMI cable or a HDMI cable and a HDMI to DVI converter.

I have a monster DVI to HDMI converter in use and it works perfect, no loss of quality at all.

Its dead easy, don't let it put you off buying the db800.

Yeah, that´ll take care of the video, what I´m really confused about is the audio. I do not use any external soundsystem at all you see. . DVI goes to HDMI via converter of course but the audio? Here were I´m a little confused...maybe a dumb question but I´sure a few others are wondering the same.

So the question is; You have a HDTV and a DM800, which cables do you use to get the high resolution video and also the audio?

Video you would use DVI > HDMI cable as already mentioned

If the pictures posted of the back of the DM800 are correct then theres no separate analogue audio out so you would
have to use the audio out from the scart

Most TVs with HDMI have the option to select where the audio comes from for that input other than just the HDMI cable,
that might be a scart input or phono input you would have to check your tv manual

Quite a few TVs also have optical in

Thanx Keano & TNT.

I won´t have access to optical in so it remains to be seen whether HDMI has sellectable audio input.

Just read up on it m8, I´ll be able to fetch the audio via scart and HD video via DVI no problem.
