Movies have been shot on 35mm film for a long time which in itself is a high resolution think of the size of the screen its
originally meant for slightly bigger than a hi def 50 or 60 inch screen
Not sure what 35mm film is equivalent to in pixel resolutions but I know its very high

In my opinion, mate, be it whatever the screen size, it's better for you to buy it on blu-ray than, normal DVD. That's why, it costs more! LOL!

Nevertheless, mate, more and more people invest in blu-ray, nowadays. Basic and simple. Good and expensive, that says it all!
