None of the current HD receivers are much to shout about.

All have bugs of some kind.

Yes at present the kathrein can't scan the new HD channels with a FEC of 8PSK 3/4 without crashing, I hope this will be fixed soon.
Also it needs quite a lot of effort to get auto diseqc working but it works as a client very easily from gbox group and I have successfully used sbcl and vplug on a PC working with newcamd to test the SV "HQ" channel (which is crap lol)
I haven't seen many other HD receivers to compare picture but the Kathrein upscales SD far better than my dreambox 7020.

How long did it take to get the kahrein box up and running.

It should be very straightforward to load a new image from a USB stick, download mgcamd and keys once you are online and change the config for it to work as a client. That is if everything goes OK lol

Do you use this as your main receiver. Again thanks.

No it is teed off a dreambox 7020 on my LAN, the next step when I get time will be to try to make a USB/serial card reader work so that it could become a server.
At the moment mgcamd clears the usual channels internally and these are shared back to the 7020 etc.
Not really a manual to do this but a good bit of information out there.
