so, these freesat hd boxes - are they mpeg2 hd or mpeg4 hd - forgive my ignorance, im not too up with the hd world...

but i thought everyone was waiting for mpeg4 hd boxes.....? are these now the norm when buying an hd box.

also, what if you dont get an official Freesat hd box, can u use a normal (generic) one - ie. a fortec star passion, will it have a 7 day EPG?

The epg is exclusive to the freesat boxes, all to do with the software. As for the Freesat receivers I think mpeg2 is for SD broadcasts and mpeg4 is for hd broadcasts which is in the specs for the humax foxsat hd receiver.

will these free hd channels be free on say a tecnomate hd box as well?
