Just got myself a Pace DS230NS Sly Italia digibox with FTV card, works ok, but can't seem to get interactive news to work, sly play IT works ok via the green button, but not the news, any ideas.

Since when do the Italians have a FTV card??? Are you sure you don't just have an expired Sly Italia card???

Yep prob is an expired sly card but allows access to rai channels and others which are part encrypted.
