Tomtom One UK will not accept 2GB SD card?

I am trying to add extra maps for my friend onto his One UK -I have loaded all the maps OK onto a 2GB SD card but when I put it in the slot it shows the card with a big red cross over it.

I have put V7 UK map onto a 1GB card and it works fine.

Am I right in assuming that it will only accept a max 1GB card?

no it will accept a 2gb card. i am running my one v2 on a 2 gb. you say you have v7 map on a 1gb running fine, so why not copy all the files from the 1 gb card to the 2gb, and once confirmed working start adding the extra maps.

Thanks for reply-now got it working although for some reason it does not show my Western Europe map 715.1689 even though when I connect to tomtomhome it shows on the contents list-any clues?
