I currently have my 1.1m triax dish located on quite a crappy mount in the back garden.

[due to the wife moaning about she hates seeing a big lollipop in the garden ,and also me not being able to see past 28.2e because of neighbours fence and like wise to the west because of trees , i want to relocate my dish to the rear of my property]

Obviously it would be easy if i had the dish installed on the front of my property ,because then it would have clear line of site on all the birds i require.

Due to snotty neighbours and the tw@ts at leeds council i have no option but to put it up the rear :number-one-043:.

Have included link to a photo ,because i want to know if my dish was reinstalled on the back of my house would i be able to get good enough signal ,taking my roof line in to account .

[ps ignore the paint work and the sandblasting that needs doing, no point doing owt yet, waiting for planning permission AGAIN for extension for my son to be granted ,dday 4th june !]

Anyway back on topic for now, im planning on spending 200ish on my reinstall, anybody with a technical mind know if i could scan 42.0e to 30ish w above gutterline?]

Ive contacted a few installers in west yorks, who have requested photos of the house ,thought i would ask you guys first for your views.

cheers ste

put it on a pole and paint it green
Or put very strong brackets high up on the rear wall and look over the house with it.
You will need long ladders.

Cheers for the reply guys,

Contacted two "major installers" in leeds last week and after a few emails [ neither company sounded eager to take the job ! ,and both quoted 200ish so i thought they would!]

Having spent many nights lately thinking of the pros and cons of having the dish wall mounted.

[i have had the thoughts ,what if strong winds move my dish?.what if i need to tweak my lnb?]

Im a bit of a frank spencer when it comes to ladders, and dont want to shell out cash to installers all the the time.

My current ground mount is pretty crappy, and im thinking of getting my hands on a large scaffold pole and a few bags of cement like this pic i found around the net

A large scaffold pole would enable me to get past 28.2e and past 31.5 to the west.

Anybody have any similar set ups?
