This receiver looks awfully similar to the Next YE 2000 SUPER HDTV...
Which one is the clone? :Angel_anim:

Another question, the photos of the receiver shows the display, and it has 1080p as one of the HD options...?
The spec and the manual lists 1080i as a supported output, but not 1080p...

Future-proofing perhaps?

Thanks efe, I have also noticed another receiver, the SAB Ultimate HD Super Plus is identical to the Octagon. Checked the firmware, and same headers :)
Looks like several "manufacturers" are rebadging this OEM unit as their own, makes a change from loads of manufacturers badging their boxes as Dreambox :smash:
SAB unit is cheaper, only €250, I may give this one a try instead...

Just checked and the SAB does not have the sata connection either... So back to Octagon :)
BTW: RedBull301 has just joined pimps and he told me he was picking one up tomorrow, perhaps he will give us the low down on this rx next week ;)

In the instruction manual that I downloaded it seems to suggest that it has a two slots common interface.

A quick google would have shown you that this same vendor (and I'm taking a guess but likely to be correct...) has told members of another board that if they quote the name of the board, the price is £249 + £10 delivery...

German websites sell cheaper for 299 EURO, but I guess might be an issue with guarantee etc.
What is the background of the team that publishes the EMU, will they be in it for the long run, will they publish for free?
Receiver looks great, but still wondering if I am better off with open Linux environment.

EU rules mean there is no problem with guarantees m8.
