23:00 All About Eve (1950)

In the Films to See Before You Die strand, Paul Kaye introduces one of cinema's most iconic films, as Bette Davis stars in Joseph Mankiewicz's drama as Margo Channing, acid-tongued star of the stage who takes the young, innocent, mousey Eve Harrington under her wing only to find her protege quietly betraying her at every turn until she has climbed the dizzy heights once occupied by Margo.

01:40 The Banger Sisters (2002)

13:00 The Fighting Temptations (2003)

Cuba Gooding Jr plays a New York executive down on his luck who finds out he's been left $150,000 by his aunt Sally. Returning to his hometown in Georgia, he discovers there's a catch: he has to create a gospel choir capable of winning the Gospel Explosion competition. Recruiting the town's one decent singer, he assembles a mish-mash of singers, including local convicts, and sets about getting them into shape.

15:30 All About Eve (1950)

Aspiring actress Eve Harrington maneuvers her way into the lives of Broadway star Margo Channing, playwright Lloyd Richards and director Bill Sampson. This classic story of ambition and betrayal has become part of American folklore. Bette Davis claims to have based her character on the persona of film actress Talullah Bankhead. Davis' line "Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night" is legendary, but, in fact, all of the film's dialog sparkles with equal brilliance.

18:25 The Core (2003)

The world is struck by inexplicable phenomena - Rome's Colosseum explodes, London's pigeons go berserk - until it becomes apparent that the planet's core has stopped moving, causing electro-magnetic mayhem. The only hope lies in a crack team of scientists burrowing to the core and re-starting earth's engine. But is the disaster natural or is there a more sinister explanation?

21:00 This is England (2006)

Shane Meadows' BAFTA-winning film is set in early 80s Grimsby, where 13-year-old Shaun has to endure bullying at school both for his dress sense and, more spitefully, the loss of his father in the Falklands War. Then he chances upon a gang of skinheads, led by the affable Woody who, although they all appear menacing, accept him into the group, offering him an identity. But then Combo reappears on the scene after a spell inside, bringing with him poisonous National Front politics, leaving Shaun with divided loyalties and hard decisions to make.

23:00 Fight Club (1999)

Edward Norton and Brad Pitt star in David Fincher's Oscar-nominated drama, the former as a bored executive, the latter as a stranger he meets on a plane who introduces him to a world of ennui-alleviating physical pain: Fight Club, a semi-secret organisation where men vent their frustrations in bare knuckle fighting in dingy basements. But as Norton becomes more involved, he learns more about the shadowy organisation that plans to take on more than each other...

01:40 Willard (2003)

Glen Morgan's version of the 1971 original stars Crispin Glover as Willard Styles, a loner who's picked on at work by his boss Frank Martin and nagged at home by his invalid mother Henrietta. His only friends are the rats in his mother's basement, as Willard befriends them and trains them to do his bidding. And as Martin's bullying gets more hateful, Willard plots to use his new friends to get revenge.

She is subsequently murdered, but before she dies, warns him of an evil plan by a secretive organisation that he must stop — leaving him with only two days to uncover the truth behind her cryptic last words. Remake of Hitchcock's classic 1935 thriller, with Taina Elg and Barry Jones (888)

7.20pm The Brady Bunch Movie (12) 1995 Reinvention of the Seventies sitcom, which takes the approach of having the all-American family remain as squeaky clean as ever, only now they inhabit the far more cynical era of the 1990s. The eternally cheesy clan face a testing time as their brash neighbours scheme to buy their much-loved split-level home and tear it down to make room for a shopping centre. Comedy, with Shelley Long and Gary Cole keeping tongues firmly in cheek as the time-warped parents (888)

9.00pm Under Siege (15) 1992 Steven Seagal stars in this slick action blockbuster in the Die Hard vein. Directed and written by John Waters and co-starring Ricki Lake, Sam Waterston and Matthew Lillard. Music fans should watch out for a rowdy cameo from one-time grunge queens L7 (888)
