Anyone who has been able to pickup ITV HD?
Is it software or hardver problem?

Not ASFIK, its because ITV are not using the normal H.264 compression for Mpeg4, ITV are using ( i think ) H.262.

So normal HD receivers can't see it, I do know that some guys with HD receivers have managed to get it so that gives us DB800 a chance.

What concerns me is I am sure H.262 is inferior to H.264 so why use it in the first place ?
I think its because they want to keep it on theis new freesat service only.

Yes, the solution works if your sat is listed as 28.4

mine is listed as 28.2 so i had to change the 011c0000 to 011a0000.

Worked for me but only by unplugging the receiver after I'd edited and saved the lamedb file. I found the best way to check which value was correct (011c0000 or 011a0000) was to look at the BBC HD and Luxe HD entries in the lamedb file. In the tune menu the sat is listed as 28.2 on mine but all the values for that sat were listed as 011c0000 not 011a0000.

I had similar issues, tried a friends lamdb file (confirmed working with ITV HD) - copied this to /etc/enigma2/ - all sorted.

It does work on nabilo I have it on now, ITV HD test card.

Its very important that once you've done that you pull power from box and put in again.

Standard reboot wont work it overwrites lamedb.

It may also be a problem with the actual program/editor used when editing the file. It may be worth trying another program.

I used DCC (Dreambox Control Center) for editing mine. For those having problems, you could try and tune the channel with the Dreambox. It will not be stored as ITV HD most likely - on mine it was listed as "10510" and I could not see it in the channel list and it was classed as a data channel. You could see the channel by downloading to DreamboxEdit or simply by looking into the lamedb file. Then you can edit the file with the 3 lines posted writing over the 3 lines that represent 10510. It is important to remember that the first of the three lines is the line before the channel name. Then save the lamedb file to the dreambox, exit editor, and pull the plug on the Dreambox as Keano said. I'm using Nabilo image too.

I have ITV HD working using latest Likra settings, but can't use any editor to manage bouquets, as they change the lamedb settings for ITV HD...

I copied the lamedb file to PC, edited it with an editor named Editpad (free nice little editor for Windows), copied it back to the 800. Then telnet to receiver and gave the command [ killall -9 enigma2 ] to restart enigma. That was it.

now you can edit with opendbedit as much as you like and it won't change when you save it.

Finally got it working.

Grabbed the files from the box with the "Settings" option in DCC, edited the lamedb with EditPad ( thanks Eugenie ), ticked Services, Bouquets and Config! in DCC and restored.

at last i've got it working, it's took a bloody week though.

so this is what i did....i d/l Likra's updated 26/06/2008 and i found that by modding it slightly it worked on Nabilo blackhole.

i used crimson editor and entered these settings you'll find ITV HD listed at the very bottom:
290E:011A0000:090B:003B:1:3412
ITV HD
p:BSkyB,c:000d49,c:030d49,c:040d4 a,c:050001,f:5

unplugged the power and powered up, got the ITV HD splash screen.

Update sorted it out with a little help now using openDBedit V3.0.6 and i had not ticked enigma2 so it was thinking it was loading filrs to enigma1 so sorted channel list in and working

Its been ages since I edited my lambdb file but I have just had a quick look back and the lambdb file it in ect/enigma 2. I took the settings that are shown earlier in this thead and stuck them at the every end of the list. Just before it says end. Then do a hard reboot and it should appear in your channel list.

I have not had to mess for ages though, every time a put a new image in flash or barry allen I copy the same channel list accross and its just there.

When I tried to borrow someone elses lambdb file I ended up screwing loads of other channels up.

Have you done a hard reboot. I mean pulling the plug out of the wall whilst still powered up. I think we found when we where testing this that if you did not do a hard reboot and only a reset that the settings we not stored and kept reverting back.

So opened my backup settings (with my personal channels list in it) and copied the info from the likra 21.7.08 back into my lamedb and sent it over with opendb and it's all working now :D

I think the problem with is where does the ITV hd settings start and finish with the lamedb, and what should it look like when edited.

This is the copy I have in my lamedb file, which should held you show where the entry starts.

Make sure you don't have a duplicate entry starting with 290e. This can cause problems as it can pick the duplicate up without reading the proper ITV HD entry. This happened to me.

When you edit lamedb you need to issue the command killall -9 enigma2 using telnet. Alternatively you can pull the power, but I don't think that is a very eligant way of doing it.

Don't get too excited about ITV HD as it has just been showing the Test card for ages now.

This is the only program i've found that will send the lamedb file over without corrupting the settings for itv hd.

However if you do a scan on any channel after you have sent it to the box, it will change and not work again until you re-edit it.

You should not have to worry where all the files are going, let dreambox edit handle that. You just need to click open, then select the downloaded folder. The one bit you need to worry about on the db800 is to go into options and make sure that the type of dreambox is set at 7025. This is for enigma 2 which puts the files in different areas as to enigma 1.

Anyone tried recording ITV HD yet and playing it back?

Doesn't seem to work on my DM800 running Gemini 3.70 with a USB 2.0 hard drive connected and mounted as /media/hdd.

The files appear to get written to /media/hdd/movie ok, just when it attempts to playback the recording I just get a blank screen with playback toolbar displated.

I can however record BBC HD fine and play it back perfectly.

Anyone else tested this?

I'm wondering if its got anything to do with the encoding used by ITV HD since it appeared to not be standard.

yes you may lose your motor setting i can't be sure.
your favorites will also go but if you first read channel list from dm800 using opendbedit you can save your current channel list in a file on your pc, and if you lose settings or you ain't happy with the latest likra settings then you can put yours back it and positions will be fine or at leastthey should be.

I transfer the edited lamedb file by dreambox edit 3 and read it back to make sure the changes have kept but I cannot see ITV HD listed in my channel listings in providers or services within bskyb.

PS i want to be able to edit my own lamedb and not import another. Please help me find the missing piece

I can confirnm that it was like that for me but i do use a DM800 it would be nice to hear of a freesat owner see if they had problems as well.

ITV SD always seems to be worse than the others, BBC, C5 etc.

I am also using a DM800 with blackhole 0.3, glad I wasn't the only one to notice the stuttering pic.

With regard to the stuttering did you change to avi input from 1080i down to 720p this sorts the issue on Itv hd.

i've finally got a decent pen and got different images on BA with pure flash on the flash, after editing the lamedb file and then when i pull the power on the DB it goes through the boot procedure >pure flash>BA>BHv06 and so dont boot directly into BH v0.6 and so ITV HD dont clear.

is there a workaround for this?

I have found the latest Likra list doesn't work (ITV HD must have changed settings).

To get it to work I had to edit lamedb in /etc/enigma2/ as follows. Replace the 3 lines which include the one above and below "ITV HD" with the following:

ITV HD
p:BSlyB,c:000d49,c:030d49,c:040d4 a,c:050001,f:5

Save the file then pull the power and reboot the box. It should work now.

(NB, if you have done a manual scan the channel is listed as number 10510. Just do the same as the above for that entry.)

Paste this into your lamdb file in /etc/enigma2/ and overwrite the existing ITV HD entry.

They look different to me !!!! As one appears to be BskyB and the other says FreeSat.

My main problem was this....

I scanned the right transponder, edited my lamedb and added...

Although, when i looked at all the other channels in my lamedb file, i noticed that most of them had a 'c' rather then an 'a'

This is strange to me...

I now have 2 ITV HD in my channel list oin dreambox, one has no sound but picture the other has sound but no picture !, but when i use DBEdit to receive list it only brings up 1 ITV HD ? i was going to copy all settings from one and paste them into the other but i only get 1?..cant understand it :ack2:

I saved my Bouquets to a folder, put a working lambd file in and replaced mine then FTP the contents of folder back to DB via DBedit....Sorted all done

I can confirnm that it was like that for me but i do use a DM800 it would be nice to hear of a freesat owner see if they had problems as well.
saying that it was'nt that much of a problem it was very slight picture /frame jump.

I still noticed a slight stutter on the Dreambox 800 during the Everton -Liverpool match recently. Didn't seem as pronounced as previously but still there, and neither changing the deinterlacer settings in Autoresolution plugin nor setting 720p seemed to influence it. Just slightly annoying rather than unwatchable. No other channel exhibits this either.

i have itv hd working fine, but i had to rescan 28.2e

now itv hd is no longer working, i tried reloading my backup channel list that i know has itv hd working, but itv hd still does not work even though i have uploaded my channel list?

ITV HD behaves strangely when paused and recorded.
If you pause the stream, the DM starts to stuter, loose channels and you have to power down to get the DM to behave.
Recording = black (no picture) and no sound.
Anyone experienced this?? / got any answers?

I have just done this and it does work. I have the ITV HD Logo with no sound as of yet.

Open DCC E2 and go for FTP/var/etc/enigma2.

Right click on lamedb and select edit.

Do a 'Find' of 10150 off the top dropdowns then delete the three entries and paste the above in its place.

You should find like I did the ITV HD channel in the 28e channel lists.

this is really easy to do if you follow the proceedure below to the letter.
The most common place to fall down is to not give the kill all command at the end which is required with some images.


1. Use DCC (Dreambox Control Centre) to browse via ftp to your lamedb file. is found:
/etc/enigma2/
2. Right click your lamedb file in the leftand window, and choose edit. The file will now open. Do a search for '290e'.
Replace this line and the next two with the following:
290e:011a0000:090b:003b:1:0
ITV HD
p:BskyB,c:000d49,c:030d49,c:040d4 a,c:050001,f:5
3.Now click save and confirm that you want to overwrite.
4.Now goto the telet tab in DCC. Type the following:
killall -9 enigma2


ps. i forgot wait for box to reboot after kill all command and then you WILL be able to see at least a test card and sometimes even a program if your lucky !!

Hi all, I tried the lines posted by aabs and got video and no audio. I then checked back posts, there is an extra space in the 040d4 a line. I edited the space out and video and audio worked on my setup, worth a try if your stuck. you must remember to do the telenet killall bit though. Below is how I entered the lines. hope this helps

UNlikely to work, unless you set an alias and use one of the other ITV channels (e.g. ITV London)... If using the rytec or satmate epg channel lists, then you should get an epg for ITV HD...
