The plots in the report are a bit misleading as the comparisons arent using the same reference frequency or span. You can see clearly that the average IF input level into the measuring device is higher with the Optical LNB but that could also be achieved with some of the newer LNB's that have more gain. The C/N is also better but that could also be achieved with a higher gain LNB.

This Optical LNB looks great to me for multi-receiver installations and the loss in the IF cabling will be significantly reduced.

This LNB does not appear to have a lower front end Noise Figure than a normal Invacom LNB but the IF loss improvement looks interesting. The tests are once again not very scientific as they dont give the respective specifications for the 2 LNB's being compared so its hard to see if you are comparing apples with apples.

I would probably give this a go for fringe reception but I would also like to compare it to a high gain LNB with the receiver installed at the LNB output just to see how much IF improvement you get with this optical arrangement.

For sharing dishes this will be great... Everybody in one block sharing a 60cm dish :)
