Just got v8.010 software with UK & RoI v 805.1801 map on my Go500 today, but I'm waiting to make sure I get the correct loquendoTTS files - once all sorted out I'll post my results & get some links sorted out.

ignore my ignorance but where do we get the software version v8 from. Is it from TomTom using the TomTom software?

No - don't get it from Tomtom. If you want to try it out here is the version & UK map I've got on my Tomtom Go500 - I DO NOT KNOW if this will work on any other Tomtom unit, but here is the v8.010 software & v805 map I'm using. I have not yet tried to get the TTS working - I'm trying to find out which copy of it I need before I try it.

I uploaded onto my 710 device and it works fine. But I noticed that the postcode is not working properly. For example if I put
RM20 2ZP, it won't find the last three, it will only find the first 3. I have tried so many postcodes and it won't find it. I don't know if this by design or a shortcoming from the postcode file I loaded. I will try and download the western european map and try again.

The same goes for the address search, I put in an address and if say the same address is in different locations, the previous map would display only those with their differrent post codes and you would select the one you want. Whereas this one, will display all starting with that letter....

Sorted, I put the two Great_Britain postal files in the root of the SD card instead of copying the zip folder that contains the two files.

Working a treat. Cheers Russell1.

Confirmation that the v8 map and version is working on GO 710.

Cheers once again.

Russell1,

I have downloaded Western and Central Europe FULL v805.1801 maps and want to use it. Shall I follow your instructions above and use the above keygen for this as well?

Cheers mate

Yes you'll need to use the keygen - not sure how you'll get on with the m e t a file - only one way to find out - let us know your result. If you have problems I'll see if I can find the m e t a file for it.

[EDIT]
Here's the info for the m e t a file - you will have to remove the spaces in the word m e t a :-

; Western_and_Central_Europe_805_18 01
F8 0F CA A3 EE F4 34 D0 EE 91 D4 89 84 5C 3D 0E Western_and_Central_Europe-12.m e t a

cool cheers Russell1 mate. Only issue is space really. I'm using 2GB SDCARD and after putting in the ver8 of the software, 1.8GB was left on the card and the total size of the western map was 1.9 :-(

Any advice would be handy

Instructions included in the first download link.

1. Make a full working back up copy of your memory card - or use new memory card.

2. Start off with a blank memory card.

3. Extract .rar file named 'Navcore 8.010.9369 - working on TT Go500' to your PC - should then have a folder named 'Copy CONTENTS to Memory Card' - do as it says - open folder and copy the CONTENTS onto your memory card.

4. Copy your map folder onto memory card.

5. Copy postcode files onto memory card - should have a folder named 'zip' with the two postcode files in it.

6. You will need to enter your DEVICE ID in the next step - if you do not already know this you will have to start up your Tomtom - tap screen on bottom right on the GPS bars - then tap screen again where you see v8.010 - will then get a new screen up with your Device ID - when you enter it in the Keygen DO NOT put space in the code.

eg :-
ABC12DE345

7. Extract zip named 'Easyusetools_for Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck' to your PC. Leave your memory card connected to your PC (OK if it is in a card reader) - Open the Keygen folder click on 'RunMeforAllAutomatic' and follow instrctions, when it askes for the Drive just type in the drive letter :-

eg :-
D

NOT - D:\

8. Disconnect from PC - start up Tomtom - may take a few minutes to start up on the first go.

Could either try a bigger memory card - or use a smaller map - do you need Western & Central Europe map ?

You are right mate, I only need western europe map. I didn't realise I had central as well, doh....

Do you know where I can get it ( I know I'm pushing my luck here, but worth a try) :respect-054:

Also, the postcode (Great_Britian.postal) file, is there similar to that for western europe?

Can't find a v805 Western Europe map - but have found a 'lite' version 805 for Western & Central Europe (don't know what the difference is except this is @ 1.4gb)

HI,

I have got a GO 500,

With a new 4Go SD card i put Navcore 8.010.9369 - working on TT Go500, and then Western_and_Central_Europe map (WCE_v805.1801_GO930),
It seems to works fine but i cant use TomTomTraffic or weather, unable to connect to GPRS with my phone, (Bluetooth works ok) I dont know why ?

So i use another 2Go SD card with Navcore_SE_7.162.8492, and France_720_1802 map, all OK, and TomTomTraffic or weather works well with my phone.

MP3, photos and text works ok, no TTS available

Thanks

whoseca, do you have to subcribe to use Traffic?

Cheers

Yes of course, TRAFFIC is valid until 2009, and working with V7...
and in any case don't need to subscribe to acces weather.
My trouble is: unable to connect tomtom with my phone (GPRS), only with V8.
