emu+keys via serial cable

since my network is not yet ready to go, i was wondering if it is possible to install emus and keys via serial cable on my dm 500+ ...
is it ?

no , only images/firmwares .
use a crossover ethernet cable for direct pc - db connection until you get your network sorted .
