DM800 How Many Tuners ?

Hi all,

how many tuners can you have in the DM800 chassis?

Is it possible to have the satellite and terrestrial tuner in the same box? or 2 satellite tuners or only 1 tuner? Cant quite figure it out from what i have seen so far.

You can purchase DVB-T or DVB-C tuners as a plug in option, but only use one at a time.

I did see the upgrade option but it wasnt clear if that was to add a DVB-T tuner as well as DVB-S or replace the DVB-S completely. I dont mind only being able to use one tuner at a time as long as the chassis can take them both without having to physically change the tuner when needed.

I quite fancy one these with the DVB-S and DVB-T tuner so just keeping an eye on the other posts at the moment and the guys who have them seem happy enough.

I have got a cable tuner for a dreambox 600 lying around - If I bought the sat version of the 800 could I also use the 600 tuner for the dreambox as well If I was to swap tuners?

Basically are the 600 and 800 tuners the same?

The DVB-C and DVB-T tuners are the same for all models, the DVB-S tuner is different for the 800 (DVB-S2).

Is there some way of modifying the 800 so that a switch could be used to switch between the 2 tuners prior to boot up, perhaps an extension lead to an external modification?

theres only one slot for a tuner. so a switch wont help.

Could you not make a pcb board to slot into the tuner slot and connect to a switch which then connects to plugs that connect 2 tuners? (Or just wait for the 8000 and pay an extra £100-£150)?
