6900 ansd sky card

i have let my free sky card run out can will it update it in the card slot on the 6900 or dose it need to be in a cam to update ?

the 6900 I think not digibox is your best bet although there are some receivers that allow this DB ect

if i update it with a sky box, will it keep updating in the 6900 after it has been updated

I doubt it m8 , the tm6000 boxes are good but I dont think they are that good

I have a freeview card with a Setanta package on it, this clears
ok on the TM6900 with the latest patch loaded.

Your card may clear but it wont update at end of month or two months unless card is in the dig box

I think as it stands the current 6000 series patch wont update the card 'yet'. However this is how the 3000 series patches first started but they have been developed and are now fully ok with the updates. I am sure the 6000 series will soon be able to as well. In the mean time you can use the cards & update overnight once a month in standard box to keep it alive.

if it does update then you wont lose the channels , if it doesnt then withing a month you will lose channels , so it may need an overnight update once a month in the dodgybox
