A friend of mine has a Humax HDCI-2000, he's not very technical and I do all his dragon updating and any tuning he needs done. I think I now need to update the software on his receiver so he can get ITVhd but he lives in a remote farmhouse and doesn't have a PC.
Ive got a laptop which I could take to his place but It doesn't have a RS-232C connector. Could I use the USB socket on the humax? Ive seen no mention of this on the Humax website.
Thanks in advance

OTA can be done on Astra and now hotbird as well I think.
Try it.

I've tried that many times, doesn't work! I think the reason that doesn't work is because entering the PIDS manually it comes up with a wrong SID, and this can't be changed through the menus, only by editing a channel list and uploading it. If Humax ever release a firmware update that enables SID editing in the menus then it probably would be possible. (I think!)

I tried to update manually but failed everytime.

Then I choose Automatic and it worked

Thanks

Has anyone worked out exactly what the 'channel missing problem' that Humax mention in their release notes is yet? I'm very curious as to what it is they think they've solved!

No Idea but I know I have two BBC HD channels, one with numbers and one which says BBC HD.

This also goes for some other channels, but not looked at it in detail.

thanks
