technomate 5500ci reducing memory

hi ,my trusted technomate 5500ci+ is now starting to play up,through thick and thin this reciever has been great.but now it seems that when i run a channel scan it says after completion channel list full and a number of channels it is over,always different .
so i thought i would remove the lesser important transponders from the memory to reduce the numbers ,but still get the same reply.i have reduced the the channel number to around 2600 (i think that its memory holds around 4000 or so),deleted all the radio channels without any joy.
can anyone help???????

sound like its not clearing, have u done a factory reset?

make sure you delete any unused transponders as well as channels
