Correct no one is broadcasting 1080p. On Sky HD their 720p is better than 1080i, progressive being better than interlaced.
The only way to get 1080p is on HD DVD like Blu-ray.

1080i is better on my fuji 50" with sky HD,
@rabby very hard for the untrained eye to tell the difference between 1080p or 1080i m8especially on a 42" at 10ft + veiwing distance just enjoy what you got,my screen cost 3k cos i wanted the processing power for SD broadcast which we will be stuck with for a while yet ,

I had my new 32" HD ready TV delivered today and I put it on the wall tonight. It wasen't an expensive TV and I feel it will do me for now, 1366x768 pixals it is.
All I need now is a HD box to test it out but that won't be til next month. Was thinking about sky HD and also another HD box for my motorised dish.

Your moaning cos you cnt have 1080P but you not had HD before :respect-023:
Just get 1080i up and running -- Live concerts -- BBC HD have Jules Holland few times a week. F1 is on ORF1 HD as is Tour de France....these are better quality images than what we was getting before.

If my 32" HD TV is 1366x768 pixals and HDMI, will I notice a difference between normal SD and HD pictures? Like I don't mind buying HD boxes if i'm going to see a difference in picture.

At the moment, the broadcasters do not have the equipment to produce 1080p content, as none of the manufacturers are making the gear. However, it is planned for the future, see this do***ent at the EBU:

Anyone see The Gadget Show on Five last night?
They showed the difference between a real life image using a HD broadcast camera, against the top Pioneer plasma 50inch costing £2,700 and a Philips costing £900.
The idea was to see if it's worth spending lots of cash to get the best picture.
The Pioneer was of course the best picture, but not three times better than the Philips, in proportion to the price.

finaly my panny th42px80b turned up, the HD sourced programmes are amazing.
The SD channels are quite good on this model as well, I was also suprised how reasonable the freeview channels looked, I expected them to be crap and their not!
Conax on 1w has a nice bunch of HD channels that all look good, my fortec star passion reciever is doing well for £130, boy does it run hot.
The HD channels looked awfull on my old CRT tube, soft out of focus etc etc, its the re-scaling that does the damage.

What equipment do i need to get Conax 1w?
I've just bought panny 42px80 as well and want to view some HD content.
I hear that canal+ scandanavia will be showing English premier league games in HD Live. What do i need to view that channel on Thor?
