View Full Version : 40e in NE of England dish size?
i can almost lock onto
11679 H 7596 3/4 (mpeg2) pic breaks up. Using a 1mtr dish
10995 V 20000 3/4 mpeg4
10967 V 20000 3/4 mpeg4
nothing comes in when trying the mpeg4 channels though, also tried on a dvb s2 pci card that works fine on the h264 HD channels on other sats but nothing on these SD russsian channels.
Is it the mpeg4 format they are using stopping me from tuning these transponders or dish size/poor alignment.?

No one knows.
All I can say is I have never seen anyone post details of success on these MPEG-4 Russian channels on 40°e. Lots of theories, but no one's done it in practice.

I get a whopping 90% signal on 11679H and 11096H. The mpeg4 channels are much weaker, but i can get 10995V with a varying signal of between 20-40%, which is a solid enough signal to watch these channels using my Humax HDCI2000 and 1.2m channel master dish. I used to be able to pick up 10967V too with about 20-25% signal, but seems to have weakened in the last few months, currently not able to lock 10967V. These Russian mpeg4 channels are tricky, but with an mpeg4 compatible receiver and 1.2m+ dish they are possible!

I'm in West Yorkshire, about 20 miles out of Leeds.

im a few miles more up north but only a few miles off the east coast 54.5n 1.1w :) Anyone with only a 1mtr dish getting a stable picture from any of the 4oe transponders, im tempted to fit a triax 110 and see how that fares
now locked onto 11679 H 7596 3/4 (mpeg2), had to trim a few branches back on the overhanging tree :) should the mpeg 4 transponders scan in even on a none mpeg4 capable reciever or do you need a compatible reciever/cam to even get a signal on those?

With a non-mpeg4 compatible receiver i think you will see a signal on mpeg4 frequencies (with a large enough dish of course!), but no channels will scan in.
