Looking to improve the gain on 0.8W with a 88cm dish. Can get the digitv package and some nordic cahnnels ok but can't for instance get the F1HD feed. Will changing the lnb improve things?

What LNB are you using now?

If it is worse as an 0.6 dB Nf then another one might improve signal but most of the time an bigger dish improves signals an lot more, and tweak the dish to the strongest signal
