Hi.

My friend has this receiver, and from what he says it sounds like a power supply issue, as he says when it's switched on, he can hear a clicking noise, like a relay, and the box then reverts to standby.
Does anybody know of a place where I can get a PSU repair kit for it please?

Many thanks in advance.

Have you tried here
https://www.satpimps.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=41

or google for 'spares echostar ad3000' and there are a few possibilities.

I think it would be against the rules to post links to the possible suppliers

You could try C16 (2200uf 10v) on the 5v line of the Power Supply, also look for any capacitors that are bulging on top and replace. This means opening up the receiver so make sure it is DISCONNECTED from the mains.
Better answer is to try a local engineer to do the job if you don’t feel confident.

That's what I had to do with my ticking AD3000IPVA. Didn't cost the earth, IIRC. Maybe 15-20 quid.

Thanks for the info lads.
Am an electronics engineer with many years component level experience, sorry not to mention it before.

Many thanks for your helps.

Will try changing C16, and look at the other electrolytics too.

Cheers.
