Editing Channels

Hi again which programme do I use for editing channels will Dreambox edit work in the 800 or do I use something else.

Try OpenDBedit 3 that works on 800, and lets you do all your changes just like dreamboxedit does

Thanks FENDOCH have installed it now (OpenDBedit 3) but it there were errors retrieving files from dreambox check log for details did you have any problems with yours.

No m8 Did not have any problems......u can also try Dreamset which is very good, or try rescanning channels......or use likra channel list and then sort them to your own requirements

Network ok user and password ok seems to be a problem here (Error 2008-08-01 22:00:39 Neither a "services" nor a "lamedb" file was found in directory "/var/tuxbox/config/enigma/" on the Dreambox.) using opendbedit 3

DM800 uses Enigma 2 which has a slightly different file system to Enigma 1

You currently have OpenDBedit set for enigma 1 thats why it cant find those files
because they aren't /var/tuxbox/config/enigma/ on enigma 2

Start OpenDBedit go to Tools > Options and press twice the button bottom right labeled "version 3 settings (7025)" then save

You should see the three directories change to the following if not press it again or manually change them

service and bouquet files : /etc/enigma2/
User bouquet files : /etc/enigma2/
satellite.xml file : /etc/tuxbox/

Should work after that :)

there a number of channels list kicking about, if i load these onto my db800 do they over write my own settings, or can i choose between the two.

I 've sent other channel lists to my 800 and they did mess up the settings in my box so I now copy and paste the ones I need instead.

I tried to send channel settings to my db800 and it worked ok, then i did i reset and it locked up so i removed the power lead and now when i insert trhe lead nothing happens i.e. no lights on the front, but the net work light comes on the back can you help

Anyone successfully managed to change channel numbers on the 800? IE When I type in 101 it goes to BBC 1, 102 BBC 2 etc?

I had a right problem trying to get my old 500 to work, and this just doesn't appear to do it at all.
