Hi Peeps!!

I am thinking of getting a Samsung LE46A656A1FXXU with Built-in Freeview.

Has anyone got one of these and if so are they as good as the makers say they are?

The lowest price that I have seen is £1044.99. Anyone seen it cheeper?

Thanks in advance,

BeeKay

I have had the 40" version for a while now and it is a superb set. I bought it to replace a 5 year old 32" Samsung LCD. The picture of the series 6 is far superior.
I have not tried the internal Freeview but I am using mine with a PC and DVB-S2 card. The 1080 picture is outstanding.

Richer sounds have the 46" for £1049, you should be able to get a good demo from them before you buy it.

I have the 40" version and the footy has no problems with motion blur and its fantastic on ITV HD when they show a match.

Saturday 11th October 2008 onwards
England v Kazakhstan Live - 4.30pm

I also have a samsung ht-z310 home cinema system attached, great when next door are out !

Well pleased with the setup :respect-055:

Hi M8 i have a 40" Samsung HD 1080p Full and i have to disagree with 600bandit, the ghosting around the ball and player in fast screen shots is really bad but this is not down to the TV as it is like that with them all.
It is the provider, I have found it to be not bad on BBC and Sky slight on ITV1 really bad on ITV4 and setanta sport channels LFCTV and digitalb supersprt. ITV HD is unbelievable picture quality using DM800.
M8 I'm sorry i also can't answer your second question as i do not have surround set up on it yet but hoping my wife will have taken the hint for Christmas as i fancy a Samsung 1000w HD surround sound system. if you get one let us know how you get on with it.

All the best bud

Keith,
1. Am i correct saying the front/rear speakers and subwoofer are connected by cable...... and what about the centre speaker

Yes all connect to the dvd player / amp with wires but there is a wireless device available for the rear speaker at extra cost

2. how did u get itv 2 hd ( thought it was only on freesat)

Bought a darkbox hd 2008

I fully understand what Jono is saying, but if the provider is transmitting a low res transmission then the result will always be crap on any tv.

Take the tip off "A" and have a look on http://w_w_w.avforums.com/forums/lcd-televisions/720970-samsung-le-a656-full-hd-100hz-50-000-1-contrast-usb-6ms-response-time-faq-1st-post.html

you will get all the advice you need..
