what do they actually do except change the box over and sort the smart card out over the phone???

cos they charge for this apparently...

If you go from basic sky box to hd, they have to install a quad LNB, and put one more cable in. But if you already have Sky+ then indeed they only have to change the box over and activate the card, which is easy to do yourself. Just a con to get more money out of you. They might as well post the box to you and let you sort it out yourself. They'd prob get more people this way and if they dropped the extra £10 per month charge. I already pay £56 a month, I aint gonna pay another £10 on top of that!

Quite! I'm already running two plus boxes to keep 'er indoors and the kids happy. I'm certainly not willing to pay for installation when I've done it all myself, including setting up the second plus box with card from old standard box.
