in the tuner settings do you give a position number to each satellite?

then go to positioner setup and use the coresponding number to setup the sat?

hi m8 thats the tuner setup. see the stored positioner setting change that for each sat you want to fine tune, remember each one!!

now exit out of that and you will see on your service searching menu a positioner setup option 2nd from bottom. In there under positioner storage choose the corresponding number. Then positioner fine movement move your dish, when you have it right under positioner storage press green to store. do that for all sats and you should be good to go.

Thanks fo replying, have you noticed that it says (1=19.2 deg 40=28. deg.)
in the positioner menu does it have to be the same 40= 28 deg if you know what i mean m8.

I wouldn't have thought so M8 as thats just the name its given in the satellites.xml not sure why they do it like that

If you look in the satellites.xml your see what I mean think its in /etc/tuxbox/ on the dm800

no don`t worry about that. the stored positioner setting is what counts.

nice one starfox, I had diffiulty and the installer as the box wouldn't store the positions, but I managed to figure it out, managed to get 0.8W, the picture quality on this satellite is really good.

The esiest way i found how to set it up right is to use USALS.

yeps that's what i've done, everything working reasonably well except 9e and 28.2e has a problem with channel break up with Se*an*a channels, although other channels on this transponder are ok.

the frequency is set to the last channel selected, so you dont need to change anything there. have you set it up with usals? personally I think you should and only change the sats that need a bit of fine tuning.

I wanted to use USALS too, the installer decided not too though, so its been the hard way for me unfortunately.

@ harshy and cairnsy

as long as your motor does usals and most do then thats the way to go. Put latest likra settings on (which you can find on here) and put in your long / lat you can then use positioner setup to fine tune later.
