View Full Version : h-h motor problem.
hi
i have a echostar ad3000viap working with a 36v silent gold h-h motor.
it has developed a fault in that the motor moves e-w and w-e but the sensor is not working.
on the menu, the dish position is stuck on astra even though the dish is moving.(so i have no idea where it is on the arc)
motor error is displayed when different sats are selected.
any ideas

Check your East/West limits in your receivers menu.
If these appear fine try altering one of them and see if the dish moves.
You could always try a factory reset and imput the satellites, and channels again.
hi mickha
have tried reset !
disc error when i try to set e/w
the strange thing is, on the echostar menu for disc position, the dish position indicator on the scale has gone.

Try upgrade to ESCIAP 1100, then switch off, switch on & reboot
* You didn't say wheather you had a signal when you was stuck on on astra.
* Check Motor cables are in M1 (White) M2 (Red) M Pulse (Brown) GRN (Green)
*
Check if LNB & cable for Rain water gretting in. If Motor is moving E/W & W/E motor must be okay....Motor Error is usually when reached its limits this could be your software

thanks grayman
yes i have got a signal, and can move around sats blindly.
can't set e/w in menu due to motor error but dish does move for 1 second.
tried connecting sensor directly across receiver terminals and put magnet close to no effect.
but not sure how this reed sensor works, did get reading of open/short depending on where the magnet is.
no rain in cable or lnb.
cables are connected correctly.

If you have a volt meter might be worth checking at the motor end of wiring that there is no drop in the 36volts. If thats ok Try setting your system up on just ONE Satellite in the Installation menu treat it as a non motorized dish. this may mean moving the dish manually to say ASTRA 2. This should prove the Software maybe at fault,LNB/Cable is ok. That narrows it down to the Motor or the software that operates it. If thats the case install AD3000IP_V1100_20040108_W Bin File . If your having problem with the Reed replacement just do a google on How to *****
