i have a 80cm dish,with 2 lnbs and a disecq switch which i use to watch astra and hotbird,as i live in a block of flats we also have a communinial sky dish,now im not supposed to have the 80cm dish but so far not had any complaints,my question is,i would like to watch the free to air channels on 28e without having to keep manually changing the cables over,can i add another disecq switch in side my flat so as atsra hotbird on 1 input and 28e on the other,as im on the 2nd floor its impossible for me to reach my dish and the sat in staller who fitted it charged me an arm and a leg in the first place

thanks for any help

Get a AB signal switch from m-apli-n for about a fiver.

plug the diseq switch in one input and the sty in the other. output to your reciever.

part MYO3D

Get a 4in1 Diseqc switch then you can put it directly behind the dish, this lets you go to your box on 1 Kable.
A = Astra
B = Hotbird
C = Astra@28deg
And you still have 1 over.

hi,
its a good thing i came across this thread, as i recently put a dish up for a friend to watch astra1..
he is more or less in a same situation as you, he aint allowed to put up any dish, except to use the communal one they already put up.. but we got away with it by installing a 45cm sky dish as low profile on his balcony and cant be seen as he is on 3rd floor!

communal dish supplies him with astra2 and hotbird, thru some disecq settings, now we want to add the astra1 dish to the setup without using a manual switch..

hope someone who answers you will also be a solution for us too.. thx!

my opinion is that you cannot cascade 2 diseqc switches

the manual a-b switch will work , shame there isnt some sort of switch that allows switching of this type to occur , possibly a smart priority switch may work , hard to say without trying it

obviously using 3 separate lnb,s and 3 cables will work using a 4 way diseqc switch , which is how I do it from my 80cm dish

another option is to have a second receiver connected to the sly cable and use your tv remote to switch between inputs

Hmm... I do think you can use a DiSEqC switch for up to 16 positions, I have had a setup with a 2X1 switch going to a 4X1 (2X1, LNB, LNB, LNB) for 5 positions, however you have to use special DiSEqC commands to make it work (your box must be able to handle that). I have only used it with DVB-S card in a computer running MyTheatre...

Easy solution is manual switch...

Best regards!

OK.
You have one Cable going to the roof ( behind the TV )
Use a 4way DiSEqC ( Not pos with a Sly box ) but i if you are using a box that has DiSEqC switching then you can run the other two Cables round the room and out of the window to the one on the balcony.
Here you can use the small 45cm Dish from ( Technisat ) then you will only need one Cable.
If not then a normal dish and two L.N.B.(s ) with two Cables.

PS. i have tested the ( Technisat ) dish and it works Great.
They now have a twin verstion so as you partner can also look at something else at the same time.

Hope this helps you.
