I have been looking at several sites with the view to buying a tm6900hd.
Some give it having a blind scan and others not.
Has anyone the corect info from experience please??

£245 delivered is the best I've seen.
Stick technomate 6900 into google, and you will find it....

2 important facts about the 6900 that often cause confusion, 1 it does not have blind scan and 2 it does not have RF through The RF is for freeview only.
I have one and it is fantastic. But it is my first box in years without blind scan and I really miss it.

Bazza,
I wanted the blind scan for football feeds. I have read in reviews some blind scanners give less channels than normal ones.
Can you tell me a bit about blind scanners please?

I search with the auto navigation facility and include 'network'. Brings in whatever is available so I suppose not the blind search of my 1500 as such.
A lot of feeds are in 4.2.2 even if they are available so you would need a machine capable of using that format.

Network search is nothing like blind scan.
Network search works where you do a scan on a certain provider's TP, and they send details for any other TP's they use, which will be added and scanned if they don't already exist. This is no use for finding feeds.
Blind scan is where all permitations of frequency, and TP's settings are searched. I am sure the TM6900 does not have this function as I would have found it by now if it does.

Lots of stuff talked about blind scans but on my TM1500 it brought in channels I couldn't access. As I said feeds in 4.2.2 etc. One or two were ok but disappeared.
I like prem footy, probably most of all. So this afternoon was (am) able to see 3 prem matches. Saw the Khan get stuffed for no payment recently. All without feeds.
I think that's pretty good value but I would be genuniely interested if someone could list what they get from a blind scan. Channels that are not encrypted. If it's worth it I'll fit the 1500 back up.

Just to note, there is a brand new TM6900 Super released.
It has blind scan, RF modulator, 2x USB ports, eSATA, and ethernet port!
Don't know of any retailers selling it yet, but it's on the TM website.

Yes, I was told about it when I rang a supplier for a TM6900. They are collecting a TM6900S for me from Technomate on Monday, I should have it Tuesday.
Cant wait.
A question about the USB recording to hard drive. Can I just insert a 12gig flash pen drive in the hole and record to that? My current video recorder can record 4 hours on 4.7 gig disk so can I get about 10 hours recordeng on a stick? Would be handy as my current recorder is on way out and would save clutter of new one or proper hard disc.

I wonder why ita a gig an hour on my video recorder but only 40 mins on a flash drive? But still enough for most of what Irecord, i.e. Strictly Dancing for the wife.

hi
when the original 6900 was first available, that too was listed with an RF modulator built in. This was stated on the technomate website.

I'm hoping to receive my 6900Super tomorrow.
I had emailed TM on the subject, and was told that the tuner in the 6900Super is more sensitive than the 1500.
I hope it's as good as the TM5400, which for me was much better with weak signals than the TM1500.
