new setup advice needed plz

just orderd a optoma 65hd projecter,sony strgd820 reciver and sony ps3 for movies and the odd gaming.what is the best setup for sound optical or the sound threw the hdmi?going to be using oth stuff as well like sly hd and media center pc.this is the first time owning a reciver and totally newb to surround sound systems

Are you aware that Sony have stopped distribution of 820's until they reprogram its chip?

Any already on sale won't give Dolby 5.1 from S*y box's.

You have to use HDMI for the two new HD audio formats Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD that you find on Blu Ray

If you use optical or coax then you can still use those two formats but your not getting them at their full bitrate which is kind of pointless
