Has any iCord owner managed to get Underworld 130,or131,or 132 working in the Diablo and the iCord/ I failed each time and have gone back to UW 129. Never had a problem up to 129. Any help greatly appreciated.TMULL

Six weeks later and up to Underworld 142 and still not working. Is there any other iCord owner on here using the Diablo? Odd that no one answered the original query. Are other boxes affected with the new updates. A german forum dedicated to this box threw a wobbler when I posed the question there. It reminded me of the Fawlty Towers episode where one was not to mention the war, only on their forum one must not mention the Diablo. I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the direction of help. Is it the box,or is it the cam or is it the firmware? TMULL

Hi,
Try to format your Diablo cam using cas interface and put it again in to it a latest UW. It should be work. Do you have a latest firmware on iCord? The latest is GXLSCI 1.00.13. I also want to buy an iCord but if there is no compatibility between each, then I need to choose other HDTV receiver.
Please report your results. Thank you!

The only advice I have received is to stick with UW 129 and update the bin file and data file on a regular basis. It works after a fashion in that it opens a few channels but I have not been able to open HD channels now for a while. I am thinking of another HD receiver as this iCord has too many bugs.It is a good box but it could be so much better.TMULL

Hi,
I don't know which HD programmes you want to view with the diable, but I have read that SR's of 30000 (which are used at the scandinavian HD channels, except SVT) will not work.
Premiere will now not work at all... and the albanian HD channels don't work either with the diablo cam.
I am thinking about a new receiver, and the Icord is one of them I had in mind. I don't know if this is the "best". I'm concerning also technisat HD S2 and Vantage 8000.

I have just about given up on the iCord. Am looking around for another set at the moment. Was about to go for Technomate 6900 Super but now read on some forums that it too has problems with the Diablo. My brother owns a Topfield 7710 Hd PVR and it is a supburb set. Great menu set-ups and very easy to navigate. Poor remote control though. Doulabs are releasing their own box called Q-Box. I may do a bit of research it that direction.TMULL

I had an Icord but sold it on sbay a couple of months ago.
I bought an AB Ipbox 9000HD to replace it. It has twin tuners HDD & 3rd party image support and they are currently testing an enigma image
There is plenty of forum support also
You dont need a diablo cam but if you have a Sky card this will work in the Diablo
The only problem as with many other receivers is although I can get ITV HD there is no sound but again hopefully this will be solved soon
New they are expensive but as they have been around for about a year you'll probably pick them up cheaper online

I now believe the iCord is a dead duck. The C/O of German Humax went on Dr. Dish television programme before the iCord was released and said it was Linux based and that it would be the media center of the futhur. I was taken in by him and was proberly the one individual who drummed up most interest in the iCord on four different forums. It is nothing short of a disaster, and an expencive one at that.I have downgraded my box to second place as yesterday i bought my self an Technomate 6900 HD. I wish to now appolagise to any iCord owner that was influnced by my posts. As we say here in Ireland ;It is a pig in a poke: I hope now to be active in the Technomate section as I know very little about them and I shall need help.TMULL

Minek 10, I dought very much if you will get a reply to your question. The obvious place to get information is on a forum dedidacated to the iCord run from Germany but any mention of a cam and your post is removed straight away.I now believe that this site may be run by Humax employees to drum up interest in their heap of junk.TMULL

@Tmull, before two weeks a go I put up on the iCord forum the same question regarding iCord and Diablo WIFI 2.3. My post was removed after few minutes. I have had an IRCI 5400 approximately a 8 years and I was very happy with this legendary Humax peace of hardware. I sell my IRCI 5400 because I want a HD sat receiver, but properly I can say right now that at the moment on the market is very small numbers of HD receivers with possibility to upload the channel list from the internet into the HD receivers and also compatibility with Diablo cam module. I am very disappointed with current numbers of HD receivers on the market and their support.
That’s all!

Miket 10,I tried everything I could to come to terms with the iCord. I paid big money for it and it was a painful decision to replace it with another box but I did.I am almost 69 years old and believe the iCord will not improve in my lifetime. I got myself a Tecnomate 6900 HD combo and can really say that I am again enjoying the sat scene again. One really does not realise how poor the dinamicks of the iCord is until one compares it close-up to other Hd receivers. But saying that the iCord does deliver great HD and SD pictures and if that is all anyone wants, fine. But I dought if there is a another receiver out there with such limitations or poor support. My recomendation is get yourself a Technomate and enjoy it as it should be in our hobby.TMULL

I can honestly say that having compared the iCord,Topfield 7100 and Technomate 6900 Hd that all the Hd pictures were brilliant and neither my brother or my mate or myself could tell the diffrence between the boxes. The comparision were on a Sony 2000 W full Hd television sets that were the highest rated tvs about 18 months ago. I must say that the upscaled pictures on the three boxes are also impressive. A lot of stuff broadcast on HD channels is not recorded on HD stock and even though it is on an HD channel the picture is just as good on an SD channel but we conducted our test using demo HD channels. I also believe that an individuals eyes may see things diffrently from another person. It reminds me of an incident in an upmarket tv and electronic store that I was part of.My son was friendly with the store owner who wanted to set up a cinema demo room in his shop but could not find a suitable person to do it. I was recomended and had a free reign to do it. I set up five diffrent set-ups with top brand tv,amps and speakers that the store stocked. I delibertly set up one with the cheapest set of speakers in the shop( They were not cheap, but it was the lowest range in stock) Of all the set-ups I was very impressed with this last set-up preformance. I demenstrated to the owner and each member of staff one at a time using the soundtrack from the film Abyss and almost to a man they all went for the cheap speaker set-up. My point is ; There is a load of hype out there about both HD quality pictures and about audio quality. I believe if you had both the knowledge and the equipment to use you may be able to prove that one piece of equipment is better than another, but if your eyes and ears cannot tell the diffrence what does it matter. The Tecnomate is by far better value for money than the iCord, but then again that is only my opinion.TMULL

what about sd pictures tmull?how do they compare
Tmull
20-12-2008, 11:28 AM
The quality of Sd pictures between the iCord and Technomate is very good. I frequently find myself checking for an HD logo when I am in fact watching an SD channel. I only have the Technomate for about three weeks now and I find the SD pictures very good. In truth I hardly bother with the iCord now except to record something.I do believe that HD pictures are a bit better but the hype we hear in the adverts about four times more detail is bull.Very few people could tell if it was an upscaled Sd picture or a HD picture. But it may all be down to the TV set.TMULL

Hi TMULL
i have the same problem with my icord hd and diablo 2.3 even with 154!!
have you managed to sort it out or no????
Tmull
15-01-2009, 06:01 PM
Masoud ,No I have not,and it is not for the want of trying. No one is interested and I mean no one.I have been in touch with owners in the UK, Sweden Germany and Greese but no help is forecoming. On a German forum dedicated to the iCord I almost got banned for mentioning this cam. I have just about given up on the iCord as I now also have a Tecnomate 6900 hd box. From contact with other members Humax support in both the UK and Germany are not apparently answering querys or e-mails on this subject. If it is any use to you it is fairly good with the Dragon cam but this wont open any Thor 1 W conax channels. I have said it before but we have bought a pig in a poke. Other members beware.TMULL

Hi Masoud. If you have invested £425 than why not get a CAS-3+Deablo cam. Seems the right way forward to me, as Diablo seems to be the feature. Well at the moment anyway.
Good luck

Hi martin007
all our discussion is, diablo in not compatible with humax icord hd, we have got CAS3 and diablo 2.3.at the moment we are looking for a solution but i'm disappoint now, just read in the other forum
(((Sorry you wasted your money on the icord.Humax support became crap a while back, ask anyone with a 2000,we had to revert to an earlier software to get the Diablo to work properly.Humax appear to be in league with the broadcasters so they can keep the official contracts.)))
it could be true,bad humax

Lads, I have been on about this for some time but your last comments are surely the reason why Humax wont fix the problem. Premiere in Germany would have a big say in what Humax do. So any Humax iCord owner should come to terms with the situtation as it is, I dought if there will ever be a fix. In all probability Humax sent an over-the -air bug into our receivers to cause this problem. Members should spread the word that this box is an expensive heap of junk to save other members getting caught. Anyone who bought one after reading my posts in the recent past can hardly complain now.Anyone who at this stage cannot give back the boxes should at least inform their dealers of the problem so potential customers could be advised. so you think we have no chance with humax and this issue to be sorted ??

Not only me but a lot of international owners as well.I have not come across a German owner who will admit there is a problem. A forum dedidcated to this box from Germany have been no use to me or other members on these problems.I now suspect that forum is run by Humax employees. Critism of the box is hardly tolorated but myself and another few English speaking members have been very close to the edge and I would not be surprised if we are banned shortly. One man from Greese is travelling to Frankfurt on business this week and says he is going to Humax HQ to get some answers.I personly dont think he has a chance in hell but if he finds out anything and lets me know I shall post it here.My advice to iCord owners is start looking around at other boxes. I made my dision because I am too old to be putting up with such rubbish. After all it is a hobby to be enjoyed so I just gave up on the Humax iCord. When the potential customers stop supporting the iCord maybe Humax will start supporting it. But when will that be.TMULL

well,
I will call them tomorrow to see what they say and will report here.
but something strange!apparently Humax Foxsat HDR is compatible with diablo and it's released after icord so if it's something to do with humax and the TV company why they released Foxsat compatible with diablo!!!!!
