STB downloads?

I will probably eventually get a 6900HD Super. I have just been to the technomate website where downloads are offerred. They are "STB" files.
My computer wont open them so I presume you just shove them on a USB drive, plug in to the receiver and download?
Is it that simple???

Yes, it is that simple.

You can also use the serial RS232 connection, and the darkman loader.

BTW: Thought you had sent your 6900S back?

Yes I sent it back because it didnt work. (could have been software, could have been faulty) But I was very impressed with the machine, so I will probably get one when the bugs are sorted and its getting good reviews. I got my old 5500CIP plugged back in so I am not missing much (except HD)

they are official firmware updates and should be loaded into the receiver first ( after backing up the channel list and noting down any other settings like usals )

after these are loaded either by pen drive or by null modem cable , you would load in the latest patch by magic , your saved channel list or the magic channel list and a tmsoftcam too

and if using tps.bin files you can only use the null modem cable method , not usb
