I take it you have an official subscription, maybe your card dosen't open it, you are getting a signal from the HD channels? I hope you can sort it, the HD pictures too me look better than sly.

Hi M8

You can use the Pilot On/Off when inputting new frequencies or searching for already installed frequencies, got to Menu -> Installation -> Advanced Search -> after you have input, or when the frequency, symbol rate and polarity are correct -> Press the Modulation tab - DVB-S is there, however if you press the Right Vol button then DVB-S2 SPSK will appear, and also Code Rate - Pilot - Search Type - Network Search - You can now change the Code Rate from 3/4 to whatever you require, Pilot can be turned Off or On by using the right vol button, Search type can be changed form All to FTA or TV Only, Network search can be changed from On to Off. I hope that this is of some help to you.

just under polarization is modulation which is DVB-S

Aldo

As tiku has said the Modulation tab is just below Polarization - which will have DVB-S - If you press OK - a small drop down will appear with - DVB -S - DVB-S2 SPSK - DVB-S2 QPSK - If you highlight one of the others and press OK the Code Rate and Pilot etc will appear.

Hi M8

Installation - Right Vol - Advanced Search - Press OK - you should now have:

Satellite....................1.0W Thor 2/3
Transponder.............(10) 12.643 Ghz - this is Galaxie Sport
Symbol Rate............. 27500 MS/s
Polarization.............. V
Modulation............... DVB-S
Search Type.............This can be All - FTA Only or TV Only
Network Search....... This can be On or Off

and below those are signal:

Level
Quality

Red Button - Scan

Green Button - Add TP

When you want to Add a Transponder, it may be best to check to see if it is already installed to do this go to Transponder and using the Right Vol Button to go through the TP's installed, you may comes across some that have only the Red Level & Quality bars, this indicates that this is a dead TP, and you can delete it by pressing the Yellow Button - Yes - when you have checked all of the TP's and have not found the one's that you require, you can Add then by Pressing the Green Button - then you can input the Frequency - Symbol Rate - Polarization - and if there is no signal Level - Quality - Press OK on Modulation Button - then press OK and select either of the 2 options - Now the Code Rate 3/4 will appear, you can change this by pressing the right vol button - Pilot can be changed from On to Off by pressing the right vol button - Search Type - I use TV Only - Network Search - On or Off.

Here is a list of the Digi TV TP's

11785 - H - 28000 - 5/6
12527 - H - 27500 - 3/4
12563 - V - 27500 - 3/4
12563 - H - 27500 - 3/4
12607 - H - 27500 - 3/4
12607 - V - 27500 - 3/4
12643 - H - 27500 - 3/4
12643 - V - 27500 - 3/4
12687 - H - 27500 - 3/4
12687 - V - 27500 - 3/4
12718 - V - 18400 - 3/4
12723 - H - 27500 - 2/4

Check these against the TP's that are already installed, and install (Green Button) any that are missing.

have you got the latest firmware from technomate in your receiver. if yes do a hard reset then update it with the latest f/w again. maybe is your patch that is cosing this.

Just checked on my working 6900HD Super
- No modulation listed or 'button' on that either, also Galaxie Sport on Vertical polarisation not Horizontal.

Guys there is no modulation setting with the latest firmware and the receiver automatically selects the correct modulation when scanning.

if that is the case, just add the transponder of what channel you want and scan.

I must have an lnb problem then...cos I only get one of the listed transponders for the digitv package!!

Give us a some clues - Which Transponder DO you get ?, Are the others non -existant, or Strength OK but No Quality ? What Make LNB are you using ? What Lo & Hi Frequencies are you using ? Is the problem only on 1 West ?

M8,

Go to 'King of sat' site and find / search the channels you want and their PID's : video, audio and PCR then enter them in PID's on stb then do a scan and you should get the channel you want! you may ave to do this procedure for all the channels you want!

Good luck ahmet-50

Others non existant....red bars only
lo 9.750 Hi 10.600
Tried 10.714H clears fine
Tried 10.279V clears fine
Tried 12.691V nowt
Tried 12.643H nowt
will check to see if problem only on 1deg west...but it looks like( at a quick glance on 19.2) that the highest frequency I`ve tuned is around 12.2???

Try replacing the LNB as it seems not to work properly!

consolglass
08-10-2008, 08:24 PM
yeah it looks that way...I`m looking for a twin output c120 Lnb....and an LNB thats ok with quite a long cable run....I`ve noticed the Invacom range are not really that good for long cable runs
cheers

Looks to me as if the Hi Local Osc in your LNB has drifted off freq. Have you tried moving your tuned frequency either side of the published ? i.e for the 12691 transponder - try 12696, or 12686.

consolglass
09-10-2008, 07:25 PM
right mate will try that...thought u had to be "spot on" with a frequency will give it a go now and let you know how i get on

consolglass
09-10-2008, 07:32 PM
tried it ...still nowt...red bars only !!!

Hamrag1
09-10-2008, 08:09 PM
Ah well it was a possibility LNB Osc have been known to drift !
I said a nominal 10Mhz on the IF but it could be more or less !
RF = 12691 - RF = 12691
LO = 10600 - LO = 10610 (drifted 10Mhz)
Rx Tuning (IF) = 2091 - Rx Tuning to Rx Signal = 2086

Another cause could be the Freq Crossover point ( normally 11700 ) in the receiver? If that had changed or not working your Rx would only work up to about 1800 before running out of IF bandwidth

consolglass
09-10-2008, 10:46 PM
is there anyway i could check the frequency crossover point?

Hamrag1
10-10-2008, 11:40 AM
Think the crossover point is automatic in the 6900HD, provided you have set the LNB type to 'Automatic' and the 22khz tone is set. The 22khz tone is used to switch the LNB between its Hi and Lo Osc , and should be ON for the Hi Osc. I understand it can be detected using an oscilloscope, but I have never tried it.
22khz Tone Inserters are also available to test LNB switching.

I answer 1st question

Hi there, I live in England Southeast and I've got TM6900 with 1.1m dish.

As not everyone has the new improved TM6900

if you ask a question on new tm then it should be on a new thread
