I'm struggling to get this to work (Gemini 3.8).
Installed the Youtube Player & VLC player on the DM800, but i get various errors with VLC (<urlopen error (7, no ip address associated with host name) when i try to play any youtube video.
I've added a server in VLC but i haven't configured anything.
What am i doing wrong?
Using a router here with a static ip addy via dyndns.

You must have vlc installed and running on your PC as well!...and you must run it with an extra http interface.
Install vlc on your PC (_www.videolan.org).
Start the program by using the --extraintf http command
Ex; Start->run->C:\Program\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc --extraintf http
Now try again. If your vlc plugin server on the DM800 is correctly configured it should work. Just make sure the IP for the PC is correct and that you keep port 8080 as is.
As for the router bit, I´m using several network cards with configured static IP's and shared internet access so I can´t really offer any advice on that.
The Youtube player works ok here except one thing, I get an error every time I´ve played a video which forces me to restart the PC based vlc server.
But how is it possible to play YouTube video on Dreambox, without VLC from PC ? I mean, YouTube player want VLC-server profile and I don't know what values should be there.

I get the same problem, I can play one video then it will give me an error which means I have to restart VLC again, it says something like invalid token or something like this, is there a solution for this?

Set up default server, just change the IP number to the PC you want, keep all values the same, next go to VLC, turn on HTTP interface from Main Interface, press Save, run VLC on PC, then run YouTube and when you have to select server, select the one you just created.
BTW I am having the same problems in Vista I had a few days ago, but it works on XP.
