Hi. I have suddently encountered low SNR and strong BER on Thor and also lost any West satellite beyond 1W and also lost satellite signals from 28.2E onwards. Could this be attributable to weather conditions in any way? Or would the dish have moved its inclination ?

could be both or a number of other things lnb cable or even the receiver tuner

ABsat, Hotbird, Astra are as good as ever. Thor is still there but the weaker transponders are losing signal. The stronger ones drop to 70% SNR every once in a while. My current set-up was done 2 weeks ago. The guy working on it was suggesting I should set-up some positioner. But then managed to get everything in order. Using DM500. Dish is 0. metres. Maybe thats not helping either!

sound like the dish has moved on the pole in the winds we have right now

I 've got the same problem and have come to the same conclusion. Can still get some channels on Thor and 16E but not the essential ones, so looks like I'll be up the ladder again!

it was the weather for me. All fine now
and also place a exhaust clamp under the motor to avoid it slipping down the pole in windy weather
