Don't know if its just my system as a result of the bad weather recently or if the signal strength has been turned down on some of the transponders, but there has been a dramatic loss of signal on some of the more interesting channels (film channels and sport) but the signal remains strong on some of the less interesting channels. Is anyone else experiencing this before I start clambering up the ladder to checK out my cables and LNB ?
Common sense tells me that if the signal is just as strong on the less interesting channels then the transponder signal has been turned down, if that is the case why are there no other queries like mine on the forum!:cheers2:

Signal strength can vary on the transponder with the sports channels. This is one of the weaker tp on this sat.
Sometimes i lose these with a 1.2 metre channel master in moderate rain,or gusty conditions.
Things should improve when the new sat is launched.

Mine was working fine until a week or two ago and then there was a sudden drop in signal on the film channels. The signal on most other channels remained good at seventy two per cent, which I think for this part of the uk is good

The new sat W2M is scheduled to be launched on December 10th,subject to comfirmation.
If all goes well, transmissions should start by mid January 2009.

im on a 1.1m as far west as you can go (West Ireland) Supersports 75-78% and film channels 70-72%. HAvent had to much problems with rain lately (Apart from last saturday when i lost every channel whilst hail/snow) Apart from canal+ on 1west which seems very strong.

I 've managed the tweak the dish enough to pick up the supersport channels but thats about all. No digi film channels. I did have them until a week or two ago, a similar thing has occurred with the canal channels on thor they disappeared at the same time. Are they all on weak transponders or what?

I have a transparent dish 85cm, which I know would n't give as good a signal anyway but it was doing fine until 1 couple of weeks ago. Maybe its the LNB (titanium 0.2)

Hi centaur,

Pleased its Sorted.

Just a couple of things, What LNB did you fit, was it the same skew as you old LNB. The one that counts is the (Sig Quality) the rule on most STBs
is, below (17%) Sig Quality = Black screen.

Why Im asking about your new LNB and its Skew is Im on the edge at (16%) Sig Quality. I beleve the Skew on (16e) is 10%, but dont know if its Right or Left.

just one example of Skew (weather the LNB is Vertical with your Dish
or just to the Left or right). I just moved a
Zone 1 S*y Dish 35cm to (Intelsat 1w and Thor 0.1w) @ (55N & 1.2W) to
pickup Digitv and Telenor. The Skew on the S*y dish was around 15% to
the left as you looked at the dish standing in front of the Dish.
The Signal Quality on Telenor Channels (Conax) came in at 30% to 60%,
changed the Skew to around 5% to the Left and the Sig Quality
one the 35cm Dish shot up to 62% to 91% on Thors Telenor.
Digitv, DigiFilm was at 18% Sig quality, tweeked the LNBS Skew and
DigiFilm 1, Shot up to 29%.
Now recieve all 450 channels @ 1w and 0.8w, on a 35cm Zone 1 Dish. Well chuft.

Hi antmarco,

Yes and No, No to Digtalb, thats at (16e), its Digitv at 1w, 125 channels.

Yes you will pickup both Sats at (1w and Thor@ 0.8w) with your
80cm dish,. I have (100%) sig quality on Canal + Film HD with a 80cm dish
North East (Toon).
With your Setup moved to (1w) you will pickup 3 Satelites with your
Monoblock (Sirus 5e...Thor 0.8w...Intelsat 10-02 1w).
6% Spread just as (Astra 19e and Hotbird 13e).

Well in North Lincs with my 1m dish & TM6900HD Super I get CRAP signal on Digitalb 16E, especially the Digi 5-9 channels (39-45%) even though Supersport 1-5 channels show up at 70% and better, but on 1W DigiTv MAIN channels 79% + but many (including Hustler Conax) at nearer 49%!

has i mentioned i think before parents been using fixed duel feed astra hotbird but now nothing really there now tps gone thinking off moving to 16 east for digi alb or better still 1 west for scandanavion conax channels if majority viewable with 80 cm in there location ie manchester ? obviously wil not be able to get all but if set up able to produce colours on some would be worth a try moving dish
