Channel clearing question

how do i know what clears and what doesnt?
i visit lovely jubblys and see a list of say 15 channels, how do i know what is available and what isnt?
is it simply a matter of knowing say nagra 2 is cracked but videoguard etc isnt?
and if so how do i know what is cracked and what isnt?

btw thanks to the help of a few on this forum i managed to upgrade my humax 5400 irci and watch the stoke game live, and can now see wbrom.
