Hello everyone who has the TM 6900 HD Combo Super, and who knows (confidently) about resolution and settings, both picture and audio.
I have a new TV and, being new to these matters, I'm not sure how to best match the receiver and TV settings. What I want to achieve is 'optimum' settings without trying to get more out of any given signal than what it actually has.
If I give some specs of my TV, maybe somebody who knows about these issues could advise me? I'll then set the picture and sound like that on the basis that I am set up properly.
Also, having done that, should I expect to have to manually change any settings on the TM and/or TV when switching between channels of different resolutions or bit rates?
Thanks a lot, and here are some specs; feel free to ask if you need more to actually answer my questions, and I'll look again at the manual.
Lee
(I am connected using a HDMI cable)
Panasonic Viera TX-32LXD85 32in HD LCD TV
HD Ready, 'native resolution' of 1,366 x 768, not Full HD.
No support for the x.v. colour format and no specialist 24p Film mode for improving the fluidity of playback of 1080p/24 sources from Blu-ray players. The TV can however actually accept 24p feeds.
(I don't have a Blu-ray or dvd player/recorder at the moment)
100Hz processing for anti-blur / better motion.
Picture Noise Reduction function, switchable to off, minimum, medium or maximum.
HDMI inputs are V1.3 ( I have no idea if the free HDMI cable that came with my TM matches this)
The audio side of HDMI 1 input (which I'm using) can be Auto, Digital (for HDMI input), or Analogue (for HDMI-DVI adaptor input).
