He wins but his opponent dies and a chastened Joe, with Lorna at his side, returns to his father and his music. Rouben Mamoulian's drama, based on a hit Broadway play, boasts realistic fight scenes shot at the legendary Madison Square Gardens.

"Frank Drebin Is Back. Just Accept It" runs the tagline for this follow-up to the smash hit original as Leslie Nielsen reprises the role of totally fearless and totally stupid cop Lt Frank Drebin. This time, he uncovers a plot by the polluting energy giants to de-rail ecological plans that could render their products redundant. They're led by the evil Quentin Hapsburg who, to make matters worse, is romancing Frank's ex, Jane Spencer. But that's enough of the plot; David Zucker's film contains sight and script gags galore, with Nielsen and the rest of the cast playing it straight down the line amid the comedic mayhem.
