How Do I Transfer a Ringtone to My Phone

I own a LG KH800 and up to now I'm unable to work out how to transfer a stored ring tone from my PC to the phone.:confused:
I have a USB cable with the package, but was wondering do I need a piece of software to patch the tune onto the phone and if so where can I get it.
Any help appreciated.
