Raja Gosnell directs this third film in the successful comedy series, written by John Hughes, who directed the first two. Alex D Linz plays Alex Pruitt, stranded at home with chicken pox. His dad's away on business and his mum's out all day. By a series of coincidences, a top secret US air force microchip comes into his possession and four crooks are out to steal it to sell to the enemy. But they haven't reckoned on Alex's ability to improvise deadly booby traps from everyday household items. As with the first two films, once the plot is in place, there are a series of satisfying set pieces, with the baddies outwitted by Alex in this fun-filled film.

John Wayne gets off his horse to play Lynn Hollister, a lawyer who leaves his sleepy hometown of Spring Valley to find out who was responsible for the murder of his best friend outside a notorious Manhattan club. He finds a city under the rule of the corrupt Boss Thomas Cameron, whose beautiful daughter Sabra falls for Lynn. As Lynn digs deeper, he begins to uncover the corruption rife in the city and when the murderer confesses, the whole rotten pack crumbles.

On board is a mix of the good and the bad, including bank teller John Carter, suspected of one of Banner's robberies, showgirl Amy Clarke and Indian-loving Senator Blakely. Ambushed by the Cheyenne, the group must fight for their lives in Lewis R Foster's western, which is enhanced by the spectacular photography of Ernest Haller.

The only hope is for the crew to repair it at the risk of fatal irradiation. But the two men also have very different political agendas, one of which could trigger global conflict rather than maintain the uneasy truce of the Cold War.

But frankly, they don't care so long as they reach their quota of catches and in addition, there's a hooded killer haunting the system, pushing passengers under trains which is disrupting their work. And there's the bear that's become trapped in the system... Nimród Antal's debut feature veers from the surreal to the comic but is always accessible.
