Raja Gosnell directs this third film in the successful comedy series, written by John Hughes, who directed the first two. Alex D Linz plays Alex Pruitt, stranded at home with chicken pox. His dad's away on business and his mum's out all day. By a series of coincidences, a top secret US air force microchip comes into his possession and four crooks are out to steal it to sell to the enemy. But they haven't reckoned on Alex's ability to improvise deadly booby traps from everyday household items. As with the first two films, once the plot is in place, there are a series of satisfying set pieces, with the baddies outwitted by Alex in this fun-filled film.

Hans Horn's chilling film stars Eric Dane as Dan, who invites a bunch of his friends, who have all known each other from high school, for a cruise on his luxury yacht. The six of them, including married couple James and Amy and their baby, have a great time and on a hot day, all dive in for a dip. But nobody remembered to lower the boarding ladder and the yacht's hull offers no grip or handhold. As the hours pass, with James and Amy's baby screaming aboard the yacht, the six are left treading water in the brine, desperately trying to work out how to survive.

In the Films to See Before You Die strand, Paul Kaye introduces Quentin Tarantino's slick and fast-paced third film, based on an Elmore Leonard novel, a tight thriller centred around blaxploitation star Pam Grier, a strong woman approaching the end of her career as an air hostess. She's been trafficking "hot" money for a gangster but when she finds she's carrying enough for retirement, she decides to fly solo, so long as she can keep him, the local cops and the feds convinced of her honesty.
