Mines getting like that too, thought it might be the IR led in it getting tired. Should be easy to replace but not sure if thats the problem.

Hi onno,

My 5400 remote is totaly bust (Battery leak).
Goto (Poun******) buy one of thier £1 universal remotes.
They had 2 types when I renewed my 5400 remote, bought
both. Can now access Installation in a fashoin.
Spot on for changing channels.

Hello, I have a similar problem with my Humax hd2000, but it now dosn't work at all. How can you test if it's the remote or the receiver ? I don't want to get a new remote only to find it's the receiver.

this might sound daft ....but one cheap , easy test is :- if you have a webcam , run the cam and point the remote at it , if the remote led is ok it will glow bright white when you press a button ,not 100% but gives you an idea if you have an ify remote.
