Carpool (Film)
Arthur Hiller's good natured chase-comedy sees Daniel Miller as an ad-man obsessed with time-keeping. So when his wife is taken ill and he has to run the morning carpool, it's with efficiency - the kids are picked up and, on the way to the school, there's even time to stop to buy donuts. But as he's waiting to pay, there's a hold-up and before he knows it, he and his five charges are being held ******* by Franklin Laszlo, an innocent customer identified as the robber. With the cops in hot pursuit, Miller, Laszlo and the kids set off for freedom and the chance to prove their innocence.

El Perro (Film)
Carlos Sorin's gentle drama is set in Patagonia where Juan 'Coco' Villegas ekes out a living selling handmade knives. As man and mastiff hit the canine competition circuit, so Villegas, under the tutelage of his manager Walter Donado broadens his horizons in all directions. Comparisons to Best in Show are not unfair but this is very much a South American take on the theme with, of course, all plaudits going to the magnificent ****ón.
