Strange message when trying to record

This message appears," In order to record a timer, the TV was switched to the recording service"

That message appears everytime i try to any type of recording to hdd, it never use to be like that and has changed, how do i change it so when i press the red button i am back in control of the recordings

I started getting this with an external esata HD. Needs a restart.
Stopped having problems when switched HD to USB port
