Hello:respect-055:
i've just took delivery of a Smargo cardreader i'm trying to get a uk sub to work and i dont know even where to begin.
i'm running Gemini 3.90 i've found some files for a nabilo image and installed them, there's a green led on the smargo (not sure what way round the card goes) atm i've got chip down.
the usb reader is not listed under Devices 'cos i guess it has to be mounted.
and that's it i'm totally stuck:o15:can someone help me please.
Oh yeah forgot i've got CCcam2.0.5+newcs1.62
thanks & regards: canthackit

Add this line to your CCcam.cfg
SERIAL READER : /dev/ttyUSB0 smartreader+
Let me know how it goes
on gemini theres a option on blue panel (not sure now dont use gemini for long time) to mount MOUNT MANAGER that has the smargo drivers u need to mount them and also do as SONIC1 says

no nothing gents.
i amended the SERIAL READER line.
i've removed the memory stick, but there is still the internal HDD installed and it's only that that is listed in DEVICE MANAGER no smargo.
i was wondering if i need to upgrade the firmware, but then again i need to know how to do that under windows.

@sonic1
i've found another tut that it says the serial reader line is /dev/tts and yours says /dev/tty do you know for sure which is correct?
i've managed to check the firmware luckily enough it's v1.3 i've got the reader plugged into the DB gone into kernal/modules> and selected (chipset FTDI) saved it and rebooted many times still nothing.
i'm at a loss altogether now.

on USB1
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/usb/tts/1
on USB0
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/usb/tts/0
Well spotted m8 ignore my first post.
The reason I say try Oozoon is because I am 99% sure it has the drivers you need built in.

it's there i have another problem no matter what latest cvs image i put on the flash i can never get any of the latest images on multiboot they just dont seem to want to work with BA.
so it's got to be the flash, as i say i've got Gemini atm i'll probaly install BH v0.5

Smargo Driver for Nabilo BlackHole & DB800 (Nabilosat E2)
This lib file pack is manual install in the your db 800
or
ftp to tmp the nab.gz file and install via manual addons
Restart Enigma2
Edit the file bootup in the folder /ect/init.d
you add:
echo 90 > /proc/progress
modprobe ftdi_sio
or over write the bootup file I have added from Nabilo BH 0.7
Set the cccam.cfg :
SERIAL READER : /dev/usb/tts/0 smartreader+
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/ttsUSB0 XXX0000
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/ttsUSB0 6800000 [ Tested and working on UK NDS ]
These work for the top USB slot
Thanks to ^^corrado^^

done all that apart from the clock speed, below is an excerpt from the CCcam.cfg file:
# Smartcard clock speed override
# Setting override specified speed for smartcard.
# Don't add setting unless you're sure what you're doing.
# In 99% of the cases the reader selects the optimal speed.
# Adding this setting either slows your card down, or might destroy it.
so because of that i aint gonna mess with it, but i still aint got nuffink.

I overclock my card to 5300000 but if you want to be safe start lower such as 3500000, I have tested up to 6200000 but she gets a little hot:18:
Trust me start low, work up and keep a close eye.

SERIAL READER : /dev/usb/tts/0 smartreader+
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/ttsUSB0 6800000
or
SERIAL READER : /dev/usb/tts/1 smartreader+
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/ttsUSB1 6800000
Depends on which slot you have your usb in.

Hi to all.
Here's my story with smargo and Sky Italia NDS3 card.
When I first received the card, I didn't know that the internal reader cannot open it. So, I tried for a few seconds and when I got the card out, I noticed that it was nearly burnt. However, I inserted it into the Sky box and it was still working.
After research, I realised that I needed a Smargo cardreader and so, I bought one.
I updated the firmaware of Smargo to v1.3, and I set it to use settings: autoswitch/dreambox/T=1/0
I set up my GP2 v4.10 with CCCam 2.011/NewCS 1.65
I set the Kernel Module to include "Use USB Cardreader (FTDSI)".
My newcs.xml is this one:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<newCSconfig>
<readers name="Card Readers">
<device>
<name>smargo</name>
<type>phoenix</type>
<mhz>357</mhz>

<password>newcs</password>
<accesslevel>admin</accesslevel>
</user>
</httpd>
</newCSconfig>
I added the following line to my cccam.cfg
N: 127.0.0.1 10000 user pass 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
The result was.... My dm800 finally opened the Sky Italia provider!!
However... One day later, the card stopped functioning. I checked the web interface of newCS and I noticed that the card has no entitlements. I inserted it at the Sky box and the message was "insert smart card correctly".
So, what do you think happened here? Did my settings kill the card? Did I do anything wrong or was it just fate?
Thanks
sonic1

This configuration is for the internal reader, right?
I am reading some posts about how Smargo operates at 5V while the Sky It nds3 card should be operated at 3.3V. Others report that the sky box operates at 5V. I am confused and lost... Should I try opening the new card (when I get one) with smargo or not?

From reports I've read, the sky it nds3 card can be read directly in the dm800 with updated drivers, and the new cccam 2.1.0. Haven't got card to test, but is what I heard...
streetspanic
28-03-2009, 08:31 PM
No, it cannot... It nearly fried my card (after the drivers' update).
EDIT: Just noticed that you are talking about cccam 2.1.0. Haven't tried it yet... I was talking about updated rivers and cccam 2.0.11

Just read this from nabsat forums:
Good news for those who have
NDS3 cards!!!!!!!
Confirm by people who dispense cards NDS3 that CCcam_2.1.0
works very well with these cards with the smargo card reader without Newcs.
IMPORTANT: Card must run on reader with 3,3V power supply!!!
Thought it might help you wih smargo reader...

I am very interested in this voltage issue as rumours say the soon to be released UK cards will run at 3.3. (may be lots of burnt ones)
Could someone say which card readers will work at 3.3v please? my old infinity USB is only 5v. I have searched and it seems that only the modern version of this programmer works at both voltages or does the more simple and cheaper smartreader+ ?
